In 1967 when Point of Purchase was still comparatively young as an industry, the GIC group was formed by three European companies. At this time, creativity came mainly from 3 dimensional cardboard. The group has grown through three decades so that today seventeen companies from all continents comprise this international association which exists to promote the exchange of the very best POP ideas through creativity and friendship. Through our joint expertise the group can offer the very best in POP design and manufacture in most mediums, from plastic to metal, cardboard to wood and interactive displays.
The free exchange of ideas....
In a different country each year, the host country will arrange for all members to meet. Over 6 days the members present the best examples of their year's work, together with photographic, technical and pricing details for each member to take home. This free exchange of ideas happens despite there being no financial or corporate ties between members. In an industry known for its creative secrecy, this unique exchange was witnessed last year in France, by a major POP magazine publisher who promoted the comment that he had 'never before seen such a successful gathering of 'would be' competitors around the same table sharing their thoughts and ideas".
The range of ideas and products are freely disseminated and each member returns home with many new ideas and an ever expanding knowledge of other world markets with the different POP problems and opportunities that exist in them. This experience provides the members with the ability to serve you in most markets, and if we don't have a member near you, we will find one!
