Harbor Industries, Inc., (Grand Haven, MI) a family-owned and operated business since 1946, is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2008, Ted Parker has turned over management of the company to the third generation of his family. After over 40 years of leadership, Ted will hand over the reins to his son Timothy, but will still be very much involved with the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ted, son of company founder, Henry T. Parker, Sr., had several roles during his many years at Harbor. He has as President of the company since 1971. His many years of service and commitment to the company and its employees are a testament to his work ethic and high regard for the people who helped the company succeed. Under Ted’s leadership, the company has experienced tremendous growth and has become the preeminent leader in the point-of-purchase display and store fixture industry. In addition to his commitment to the company, Ted has been an active, dedicated and vital member of the community. In May of 2006 Ted was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grand Haven Chamber of Commerce. The award honors business people who excel in their chosen profession and have devoted significant time and energy to improve the community's quality of life. Timothy Parker has assumed the role of President of Harbor Industries. Tim has a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Administration from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Tim has played an active, key role in the company since June of 1990, and was responsible for the multi-million dollar two phase construction of the company’s state of the art manufacturing facility in Charlevoix, MI. He has also led the charge in helping change Harbor’s culture to a team based model, where everyone has a voice in achieving the company’s objectives. Cindy Parker Euscher has also been promoted to Executive Vice President. Ted’s daughter, Cindy, started with the family business in June of 1988. Cindy has a Bachelor Degree in Business from Central Michigan University. She has played a vital role in a number of key areas, including sales and marketing, as well as overseeing the Harbor Interactive Technologies division. She is the management champion of Harbor’s sustainable business (green) initiative. Her expanded responsibilities in the area of sales management will have a positive impact on the company in the future. Everyone at Harbor is excited that the 3rd generation will be taking the helm and look forward to Tim and Cindy’s leadership.
