SEARS NAMES HARBOR INDUSTRIES, INC. AS A PARTNER IN PROGRESS

Grand Haven, MI – Harbor Industries, Inc., Grand Haven and Charlevoix, MI has been named as a Sears Partner in Progress for 2004.

This prestigious award is presented annually to a select group of supplier companies that have provided Sears, Roebuck and Co. with quality products and services, from apparel, appliances and tools to marketing, transportation services and technology. More than 10,000 sources competed for this award in 2004.


Ted Parker and Tabb Wierengo were honored on April 12 at an event hosted by Sears Holdings Corporation Vice Chairman and CEO Alan J. Lacy at the company’s headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
Started more than 20 years ago, the Partners in Progress program recognizes suppliers that make significant contributions to the growth of Sears businesses and the creation of new ways to better serve Sears customers. The winners were selected from nominations submitted by Sears’ employees who purchase goods and services for the company.

“It was truly an honor to be the recipient of this prestigious award for the third time. It speaks very highly for our company and the employees who make earning this award possible through their continued hard work and dedication to Sears,” Ted Parker, President. “We are among a very elite group of Sears suppliers, less than 1% of the suppliers earn this distinction.” Harbor first receive the Partner’s in Progress award in 1999. In 2004, Harbor received the Partner’s in Progress award as well as the Innovative Supplier of the Year award.
